Small Business Profiles: 42 Holdings

If you’re a corner grocery store, or you’re running
a multi-million-dollar small business, it’s not easy. But, there’s a lot of there’s a lot
of great things that come out of it. It’s really living the dream. I started
the business when I saw so many of these young individuals working at
Starbucks with a four-year education. While I was looking that I looked on the
street, and found that there were a lot of young people out there actively
looking for jobs with no place to go. Then I was in the process of moving,
and I saw a hole in the market of younger educated individuals as being
a part of the moving world. I saw an opportunity to jump in with something
different. That was taking young individuals out of high school and out
of college, and get them into a career in the moving and waste hauling industry. I think we forget that in our business
that we spend the majority, 70% of our time, in our workspace.
I find it is it is a direct duty of mine to build that self value, that self-worth,
because that’s what’s truly going to allow someone to reach their god-given
potential. It’s that they feel good about themselves, and I think that’s something
that we must deliver on a regular basis within our company. Most small businesses are just praying
to make payroll each week. I’m not talking just a business that’s a
$100,000 a year, small business is up to $10, $15 million, $20
million dollars a year. Even at making those types of numbers
you still have such an overhead cost. I’m in one of the industry’s that has
one of the highest workers comp costs in the country. The government literally
shut us down on a policy, because of a workers comp situation. That control over
our company makes it more difficult for me to run my business. To find out more how to bring small businesses back, please go to DefendMainStreet.com
