In this video tutorial, I’m going to walk you through … the process of setting up a Google Meet session. The first option is setting up a pre-scheduled meeting within … your Google calendar. Go to the Google Calendar by going to calendar.google.com … and logging in with your Gustavus credentials if prompt. Once you’re at your calendar, navigate to where you like to have your meeting take place … and either double-click on that date or you can click on the … create button in the upper left-hand corner. Give your meeting a Title. Select your start date and time. Add guests. Note: if you’re using this for your … course, you can add in your email … group Alias here. Next, click add rooms, locations, or conferencing. Click on ADD conferencing. And just like that the Google meet is created. At this point you can go ahead and click Save. If you have guests included, click send. When it’s time for the Google meeting to start, go into your online calendar. And click join Hangouts Meet. This will open the Meet dialog box. Go ahead and click on Join. The other way to start a Google Meet, is to start a Google meet instantly. To do this, you navigate to a new … browser window and type in meet.google.com. Login with your Gustavus credentials if prompt. From here go ahead and click Ioin or start a meeting. Give the meeting a name and click continue. Click Join Now. The information will come up on the screen that you can … copy this information to email to somebody or you can … simply add people here by typing in your course email … group name or by adding other people. Now that you’re in the meeting a couple pointers to … help out while you’re in the meeting. Down here at the bottom, this is your microphone, you can turn this on or off. The red phone will allow you to leave the call. The camera here will allow you to turn off your camera, or to turn your camera back on. Over here on the right you have turn captioning on. If you click on that button it will auto caption what you are … saying to help with closed caption. Present now. This will allow you to share your screen. You can do your entire screen or a particular window. Once you do your entire screen, you select it, and click share. Now I will be presenting my screen through the webinar. To stop sharing, I simply click stop sharing. Other options you’ll notice your people Icon up here if … you click on that you can see all of the people that are in … your google meet. You can also click on the chat and chat with others that are … in your meeting. When you are done with the conference you can go ahead … and click on leave call.
